One woman dies and one in an unrelated freeway shooting near where I live was shot in the leg. Another person was shot at on the freeway in Richmond, California. Three freeway shootings in a span of three days. Over the past few years the freeway shootings have become commonplace in the East Bay Area Of San Francisco’s Greater Bay Area.
I’d rather go to jail for carrying a firearm illegally and have the ability to defend myself than be killed for being a law abiding citizen. California delegates concealed weapons permits to the authority of the County Sheriff’s of each county. So basically the only way to get a concealed firearms permit is if you grease the palms of most of these elected law enforcement officers in California State. You have to be a contributor to their campaign funds or afford some other type of services and be buddy, buddy with the elected Sheriff. It’s extremely bias and the chances of you getting a permit are as likely as you being elected to public office. The amount of permits issued is minuscule in comparison to the size of the population. If you can pass a background check and have no mental disorders or history thereby you should have no issue in obtain a permit and have the chance to be trained and carry. California violates the 2nd amendment every chance it gets when it’s state legislatures pass laws on gun control. So what we are left with is a decision do I obey the law and put myself in a position to be victimized, hurt or killed? Do I take it upon myself to carry concealed without a permit because I’d rather go to jail for defending myself by carrying illegally versus being killed like the lady was the other day in this news release? Me personally I’d rather be tried by twelve than carried by six any day of the week. I’m not implying I or that you should runaround carrying firearms illegally but the way the bias is in California especially seems like an unfortunate alternative. What’s your opinion?
