There are 1,900 known edible insects in the world. In Western and European cultures eating insects is too much of a yuck factor and not broadly accepted. Even though insects offer 50% more protein per pound than red meat. In third world cultures such as in Asia insects are a major dietary staple. Insects are in an abundance worldwide and can be easily gathered to help you sustain in a survival mode situation. Combining the skill of knowing which plants are edible and also trapping and hunting, I offer this ideology as food for thought; there's no reason you should starve if you can overcome your yuck factor and you strive to obtain the skills needed to gain food sources by the before mentioned. In a true survival situation it's do or die, only the strong survive. Also keep this in mind; only the physically fit survive too. If you're not fit, unhealthy and out of shape and must egress. You might have to travel a great distance and to do so you will need endurance and have the ability to cover a lot of ground. That being said I always say that survival is fitness, fitness is survival. You can read articles, books or watch videos all you want but until you get out and put to practice in the real world what you learn you really have learned nothing at all. It's wild outside, get out and create your own adventure you never know what you'll discover about the world around you or about yourself. #DanShrigley #DanShrigleyTV #DanShrigleySurvival #Survival #Survivalist #SurvivalEarth #SurvivalBlog #SurvivalTips #Survive
