Strongly advise that you cook to a crisp all insects with legs. I once saw a praying mantis that was smooshed having a black tape worm extracting out of it’s host body. Pretty nasty. Most people wouldn’t dare eat a maggot, however it you remove the head of the maggot you can eat it.
